My Story
I'm Amanda, a proud resident of a serene beachside town in North Brisbane. My world revolves around my beautiful family, including my two daughters, my loving husband, and our loyal border collie, Summer. Growing up on the Sunshine Coast, I've always had a deep affinity for nature, with K’gari (Fraser Island) being my absolute favorite spot. As you might have guessed, the beach is my sanctuary, and I make it a point to immerse myself in its soothing embrace whenever possible. While my daughters are fervently dedicated to cheerleading, I find solace in yoga sessions and leisurely strolls along the shoreline.
My Journey
My professional journey took an unexpected turn when, after 17 years as a Property Manager, I decided to take time off to nurture my family. Those five years spent at home witnessing my daughters' growth were nothing short of extraordinary. However, when I contemplated returning to the workforce, I realised that being away from my family was unbearable. The role of a property manager, which had once been my passion, no longer resonated with me. It became evident that being present for my family, even simple moments like picking my kids up from school, held immeasurable importance in my life.
The Birth of AJR Virtual Assistant
With a burning desire for change, I embarked on a new journey as a Virtual Assistant. Armed with a wealth of knowledge and experience in administration, I was determined to support fellow businesswomen. Many of my clients, like myself, run businesses from home, driven by the pursuit of a fulfilling work-life balance.
Working from home grants me the freedom to be there for my family, always. I can conduct my business meetings with the sound of ocean waves in the background and make time for the things that truly matter to me. The best part is that I get to choose the people I work with and set my own terms, all while setting an example of a fulfilling work-life balance.
